HOUSTON – It was a record-setting bid for a very special lamb at the Junior Market Lamb Auction at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Friday as the Grand Champion Market Lamb sold for $1 million.

The record-setting lamb, exhibited by Reagan Miller of Seagraves, Texas, sold for the highest price ever paid for a lamb at the Rodeo.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo says the winning bid came from the Hildebrand family, in memory of Brittany Ann Hildebrand, longtime supporters of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

“We are sowing seeds,” said Jeffery Hildebrand. “This is a wonderful place, and kids like this are getting the chance to move on, advance and grow. These are the kids who are going to save America.”
