HOUSTON \u2013 Showgoers to last night\u2019s RODEOHOUSTON chuck wagon race got a bit of a shock when two horses fell on the track.<\/p>\n
Rodeo officials told KPRC 2 News reporter Gage Goulding<\/a> that both horses and the wagon driver are okay.<\/p>\n During the first lap in Friday night\u2019s race, the Kroger wagon was making a turn when two of the horses slipped. Both horses got up and appeared unharmed.<\/p>\n On Saturday morning, Houston Rodeo officials confirmed the horses were evaluated by a veterinarian and will participate in future races.<\/p>\n On March 13, two horses slipped and fell during a RODEOHOUSTON\u00ae chuck wagon race. Both horses walked away on their own accord, have been evaluated by our veterinarian and will be okay. The driver was unharmed. We expect all to participate tomorrow.<\/p>\n Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo<\/p>\n Announcers noted that accidents during RODEOHOUSTON chuck wagon races are rare, but not unheard of it. Friday night\u2019s incident was minor compared to tumbles in the past.<\/p>\n In 2016<\/a>, a horse and a driver suffered minor injuries during a fall but made full recoveries.
