DART’s Silver Line launches this weekend, connecting Plano to DFW Airport in less than an hour with 10 stops across seven cities.<\/p>\n

DALLAS \u2014 They\u2019re gearing up for a weekend of parties \u2014 at every stop along DART\u2019s new Silver Line<\/a>, a 26-mile regional rail connecting Plano to DFW Airport.<\/p>\n

With 10 stops across seven cities and three counties, the Silver Line promises to move riders from Shiloh Road Station in Plano to the airport in under an hour.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s incredibly exciting to see the DART Silver Line come to life as a project that truly connects and grows North Texas,” DART CEO Nadine Lee said. “The Silver Line will provide 26 miles of regional rail service from Plano to DFW Airport, giving riders a seamless connection across seven cities. Tomorrow\u2019s grand opening and station parties are more than a celebration of new transit options; they\u2019re a celebration of regional collaboration, economic growth, and the bright future of North Texas transportation.”<\/p>\n

Each train on the Silver Line features two cab cars, two coach cars and a center engine module. Each vehicle can seat 220 passengers and accommodate up to 485 riders total, including standing room.<\/p>\n

Service will run daily from 4 a.m. to 1 a.m., with trains arriving every 30 minutes during peak hours and hourly at other times.<\/p>\n

DART officials are calling the Silver Line\u2019s debut an \u201cexciting day\u201d \u2014 one that\u2019s been years in the making.
