Customers can get a refund through the company\u2019s website or the Southwest app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Employees at those airports will also have an opportunity to bid for open positions in the company, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The airliner said it will still have flights to Chicago and the D.C. area, serving Chicago Midway International Airport, Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Southwest has had flights at Midway for more than 40 years. But the company said operating at O\u2019Hare has been \u201cchallenging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The announcement comes about a week after the Federal Aviation Administration met with two other airline carriers to discuss <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/chicago\/news\/faa-reducing-ohare-surge-2-airlines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/chicago\/news\/faa-reducing-ohare-surge-2-airlines\/\">reducing flights<\/a> at O\u2019Hare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KPHO via Gray Local Media, Inc.
