{"id":205996,"date":"2026-03-15T20:56:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-15T20:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/205996\/"},"modified":"2026-03-15T20:56:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-15T20:56:07","slug":"2026-indycar-grand-prix-of-arlington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/205996\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The inaugural Grand Prix of Arlington delivered a surprisingly clean, but exciting battle for 70 laps, ending with a showdown between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/alex-palou\/21151\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Alex Palou<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/kyle-kirkwood\/290499\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kyle Kirkwood<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kirkwood passed Palou via an aggressive dive with 15 laps to go, and never looked back. Palou finished second, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/will-power\/4712\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Will Power<\/a> earned his first podium finish with Andretti in third. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/marcus-ericsson\/10833\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Marcus Ericsson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/pato-oward\/837280\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pato O&#8217;Ward<\/a> filled out the rest of the top five.<\/p>\n<p>For Kirkwood, this is his sixth career win and his fourth on a street course. Caio Collet led the way among the rookie class, earning a career-best finish of 12th, improving on his previous high result of 17th.<\/p>\n<p>The race didn&#8217;t feature a single full-course yellow until the final four laps of the race, and while it did get restarted for a one-lap shootout, the race ultimately ended under caution due to a crash in the back.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: Felix Rosenqvist originally finished sixth, but was deemed to have jumped the final restart.
