Former University of Texas at Arlington quarterback Michael Baylor (\u201970 BBA, Accounting) has pledged $250,000 to support the University\u2019s Department of Athletics.<\/p>\n

The gift is the latest example of Baylor\u2019s generosity. Last year, he made what was then the largest unrestricted pledge<\/a> in the history of UTA Athletics. <\/p>\n

With his newest gift, Baylor has contributed nearly $1 million over the past 12 months, providing additional resources for UTA student-athletes and programs while helping the department continue to grow. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m grateful to be in a position where I can help my alma mater,\u201d Baylor said. \u201cIn this day and age, financial support is more critical than ever for athletic departments.\u201d <\/p>\n

Baylor enjoyed a standout career as UTA\u2019s quarterback and was named MVP of the 1967 Pecan Bowl. He was inducted into the UTA Hall of Honor in 1987 and received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe philanthropic support Michael Baylor has given to our athletics department has been remarkable, and we appreciate his dedication to UTA Athletics,\u201d said UTA Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jon Fagg<\/a>. \u201cThe impact his donations will have on our student-athletes, coaches and entire athletics department will be monumental.\u201d <\/p>\n

Following his graduation from UTA, Baylor became a certified public accountant and built a 37-year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Over the years, he has also supported UTA\u2019s Department of Accounting<\/a>. <\/p>\n
