\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEarly voting has begun for a special election for the remainder of the Schertz City Council Place 6 term.<\/p>\n

The seat became vacant after Place 6 council member Allison Heyward<\/a> filed to run<\/a> for Guadalupe County Precinct 3 commissioner in the March 3 Republican primary. Heyward ran against appointed incumbent Jim Wolverton.<\/p>\n

Heyward lost to Wolverton, receiving 1,466 votes, or 38.77% of the vote, as previously reported<\/a> by Community Impact.<\/p>\n

The Place 6 term expires in November 2027, according to the city\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the ballot<\/p>\n

There are four candidates on the ballot for the Place 6 seat:<\/p>\n

Sarah DietzLuz AresTiffany M. GibsonRaquel GutierrezDietz is a Realtor, and Ares is a blackjack dealer at a casino\u2014something Ares does for fun, according to Ares\u2019 ballot application. Gibson has a government role, and Gutierrez is retired.<\/p>\n

What else?<\/p>\n

Individuals can cast their votes during early voting at the elections office in Seguin, which is located at 3251 N. Hwy. 123 or at the Schertz Annex Elections Office at 1101 Elbel Road.<\/p>\n

The election office in Seguin will not be open on election day, April 4.<\/p>\n

Early voting ends March 31, according to the city\u2019s website. Election day voting will take place from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Schertz Annex Office, which is located at 1101 Elbel Road.<\/p>\n
