Hodge School of Pharmacy Students Celebrate Residency Assignments<br \/>\n                           on Match Day<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ttuhsc-pharmacy-fountain_1200x628.jpg\" alt=\"Double T logo on a flat, metal mortar and pestal.\" width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Fourth-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttuhsc.edu\/pharmacy\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy<\/a> students interested in completing a residency after they graduate in May have learned<br \/>\n                        where they will spend the next stage of their training during Pharmacy Residency Match<br \/>\n                        Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA pharmacy residency is a post-graduate training program designed to provide the<br \/>\n                        knowledge and experience pharmacists need to navigate today\u2019s increasingly complex<br \/>\n                        health care environment,\u201d said Krystal Edwards, Pharm.D., associate dean for career<br \/>\n                        development. \u201cFirst-year residencies build upon the clinical skills and professional<br \/>\n                        identity developed during pharmacy school, while second-year residencies allow pharmacists<br \/>\n                        to pursue advanced training and specialization in a particular area of practice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A total of 5,093 applicants from across the country applied for one-year postgraduate<br \/>\n                        year (PGY-1) residency programs, and 76% were successfully matched. A combined 30<br \/>\n                        students from the TTUHSC campuses in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas and Lubbock participated<br \/>\n                        in the program. In total, 21 students were successfully matched and will go on to<br \/>\n                        complete PGY-1 residency training.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are incredibly proud of all of our students who pursued residency training this<br \/>\n                        year,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cThe match process is highly competitive, and each of these students<br \/>\n                        demonstrated tremendous dedication, resilience, and commitment to their future in<br \/>\n                        the pharmacy. While we celebrate those who matched today, we are equally proud of<br \/>\n                        all of our graduates who have worked hard to prepare for their careers as pharmacists.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, nine TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy alumni successfully matched<br \/>\n                        with PGY-2 programs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also excited to see many of our alumni continue their training through PGY-2<br \/>\n                        residency programs,\u201d shared Edwards. \u201cThese specialized residencies reflect a strong<br \/>\n                        commitment to advanced practice and lifelong learning. Match Day is always a proud<br \/>\n                        moment for our school, and we look forward to watching both our students and alumni<br \/>\n                        continue to grow and make meaningful contributions to patient care and the pharmacy<br \/>\n                        profession.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Daily Dose 2026 March\u00a0\/\u00a0TTUHSC Jerry H.
