PLANO, Texas \u2014 The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) said the Greater DFW International Massage Academy in Plano has had its license revoked, effective immediately.<\/p>\n
In a release Friday, the TDLR said the academy was falsifying student records and allowed students to “obtain massage therapy licenses without completing required training.”<\/p>\n
The report said these practices allowed individuals to get hired at massage businesses that allegedly showed evidence of human trafficking.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will not tolerate fraudulent conduct that undermines that profession or puts the public at risk. At the same time, we are committed to supporting students who followed the law and holding bad actors accountable,\u201d TDLR’s Executive Director Courtney Arbour said.<\/p>\n
