Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug<\/a> on Friday announced the release of his new mixtape, 6WA. <\/p>\n

The 14-track project showcases the talent of BigXthaPlug\u2019s 600 Entertainment record label, with music from Texas artists Ro$ama, Yung Hood, Murdagang PB, KevanGotBandz and KaineMusic. The mixtape also includes appearances by rap icons Snoop Dogg and the D.O.C.<\/a>, a native of West Dallas. <\/p>\n

“6WA” is the new mixtape from Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug and his 600 Entertainment label mates, with appearances by Texas artists Ro$ama, Yung Hood, Murdagang PB, KevanGotBandz and KaineMusic. Rap icons Snoop Dogg and the D.O.C., a native of West Dallas, are also on the album.<\/p>\n

BigXthaPlug has been on a roll lately, landing on the cover of Rolling Stone<\/a> this month. The magazine touted his \u201cTexas-sized\u201d ambition, as he\u2019s crossed over from hip-hop to the country music charts. In November, he teamed up with Grapevine-raised musician Post Malone<\/a> on the country-trap duet \u201cCold<\/a>.\u201d He\u2019s also teamed up with other country stars, including Shaboozey, Ella Langley, Luke Combs and Bailey Zimmerman. <\/p>\n

6WA, though, is a nod to classic hip-hop, with a mix of Texas swag and West Coast-inspired sounds. The cover art is reminiscent of N.W.A.\u2019s classic 1988 album Straight Outta Compton. <\/p>\n

Born Xavier Landum, the 27-year-old rapper rose to prominence in the early 2020s with hits like \u201cTexas\u201d and \u201cMmhmm.\u201d The Ferris High School graduate launched his label in 2023. <\/p>\n

He has released three studio albums since 2023, Amar, Take Care and I Hope You\u2019re Happy, with the first two certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.<\/p>\n
