Houston Police Department<\/a>, officers with the department\u2019s Northeast Division responded around 2:15 a.m. Saturday to multiple complaints from people living near a building on Laura Koppe Road near Homestead Road.<\/p>\nWhen officers arrived, investigators said they found between 75 and 90 people gathered outside. As police moved in, HPD said many of those people ran into the building.<\/p>\n
Police said they executed a search warrant at the club and believe it had been operating without the proper permits.<\/p>\n
Neighbors have been calling police for weeks, reporting loud music, screeching tires, gunfire, and other criminal activity they believe was connected to the after-hours club, investigators said.<\/p>\n
One man was taken into custody in connection with the business.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe citizens of this Northeast area, of this neighborhood in particular, are tired of the late nights. Tired of the screeching tires. They\u2019re tired of gunshots happening, crime and other related incidents that happen because of these late-night clubs that are operating without a permit,\u201d HPD Captain Jonathan French said.<\/p>\n
HPD has not released the man\u2019s identity or said what charges he may face. The investigation remains active.<\/p>\n
