An overnight raid at an after-hours club on the northeast side of town landed one person in custody, Houston police said.<\/p>\n
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to an after-hours club in the 6500 block of Laura Koppe Road with a search warrant after they received numerous complaints from neighbors.<\/p>\n
Officers said they found between 75 and 90 people inside, who began to run out as soon as police entered the building.<\/p>\n
According to HPD, officers have a man in custody related to the business.<\/p>\n
According to HPD, neighbors told police they were tired of the late-night sounds and incidents.<\/p>\n
“They’re tired of the screeching tires. They’re tired of gunshots happening, crime, and other related incidents that happen because of these late-night clubs that are operating without a permit,” HPD Capt. French said. “So this is our response to that. We hear the people that are complaining about it, and we’re doing something about it.”<\/p>\n
ABC13 spoke with one of the neighbors, who said this has been an issue in the area for months.<\/p>\n
“My desire is that somebody would come here and decide, ‘OK, enough is enough, let’s shut this down because it’s too dangerous,'” the neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, said.<\/p>\n
Officials did not immediately release what charges the man in custody is facing.<\/p>\n
