<\/p>\nRonnie \u201cPointy Boots\u201d Mathis, a Corpus Christi celebrity, died March 19 after battling Stage 4 prostate cancer.<\/p>\n
Mathis was 70, public records show. He was known for his extravagant fashion style.<\/p>\n
People would often see him pedaling his bike along the bayfront, resplendent in blue, red, purple or any number of other colors. Mathis would wear a cowboy hat and\u00a0pointed-toed shoes.<\/p>\n
The U.S. Army veteran, who served in Vietnam, would have his fingers bejeweled with golf ball-sized rings, and his belt buckle the size of a dinner plate.<\/p>\n

Mathis\u2019 family started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
