Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calallen). They never let the Robstown Cottonpickers get on the board and left with a 22-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Juarez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Juarez was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That’s the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Kylie Butcher was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. That’s the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Kiana Vargas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Calallen lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.

Calallen’s victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Robstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11-1.

Coincidentally, Calallen and Robstown will both be playing Tuloso-Midway the next time they take the field. The Cottonpickers will host the Warriors & Cherokees at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
