{"id":215927,"date":"2026-03-22T23:34:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-22T23:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/215927\/"},"modified":"2026-03-22T23:34:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T23:34:12","slug":"driver-struck-killed-two-pedestrians-after-returning-to-scene-of-altercation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/215927\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver struck, killed two pedestrians after returning to scene of altercation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">CROSBY COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; Two women died in Crosby County Saturday night after they were struck by a pickup truck on a County Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">DPS says the driver stopped, the occupants got out, and some kind of fight broke out, causing the driver, 49-year-old Luis Alejandro Poot-Sosa of Lorenzo, to leave the other three people on County Road 105, just south of County Road 118, around 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver returned to retrieve the occupants and collided with two of the pedestrians, who died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The deceased have been identified as Yrma Linda Reyes-Chavez, 52, of Lorenzo, and Irene Ramirez-Reyes, 60, of Lubbock.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A third pedestrian, Sergio Torres, 49, of Levelland, was not injured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Poot-Sosa was assaulted by the family of the deceased and was transported to University Medical Center-Lubbock with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KCBD.
