The regular season for Major League Baseball gets rolling later this week.<\/p>\n
There are a lot of new faces on the roster for the Texas Rangers this season, but San Antonio’s own Josh Jung is back for another year.<\/p>\n
The All-Star third baseman has had his run of tough luck with injuries in his career.<\/p>\n
A broken thumb in 2023. A fractured wrist in 2024.<\/p>\n
During Spring Training, Jung was sideline for a little more than a week with a straied groin.<\/p>\n
But Now he’s ready to roll for the regular season.<\/p>\n
You get hindered on a couple things depending on the injury,” said Jung. “But other than that, you keep everything else dialed in. So when it’s time, you’re ready to go. [My] swing feels great. So now it’s just get back in games and get in baseball shape.”<\/p>\n
The Rangers are looking to bounce back this year.<\/p>\n
They lost 11 of their last 13 ballgames last season missing the playoffs for teh second straight year.<\/p>\n
“I think the last couple years have left the sour taste in our mouth,” said Jung. “And I think everyone is kind of on the same page of just getting back on track. I don’t think any of us liked how last year went, and I think we’ve all come in pretty hungry, And honestly, just can’t wait to be going.”<\/p>\n
There’s a new manager in the dugout for Texas this season. Jung says Skip Schumaker has breathed some new life into the clubhouse.<\/p>\n
“He just brings that extra edge,” said Jung. “And I think everybody feels it for the most part. And I mean, camp’s been awesome. Everyone’s been working their butt off. We’ve been playing well. So you just gotta take that over the season.”<\/p>\n
Josh is laser-focused on helping the Rangers get back to the postseason. But he’s also een keeping an eye on a team he roosted for growing up.<\/p>\n
“I always check in and see how they’re doing,” said Jung. “I know they were up there with OKC for a while. I’m sure they’re still there, I think they’ll make a good run. OKC is really good, so that might be a tough one to top, but I think they’ll make a deep run.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The regular season for Major League Baseball gets rolling later this week.
