Former \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d star James McCoy Taylor was re-arrested in Texas over his 2024 assault case<\/a> \u2014 even after pleading guilty and receiving his sentence last year.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old was taken into custody in Brazos County on Friday but was released the same day after posting a $10,000 surety bond, the Brazos County Sheriff\u2019s Department said, according to Fox News.<\/p>\n

Taylor \u2014 who appeared on season 12 of \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d in 2016 \u2014 was arrested on a warrant tied to an April 2024 incident in which a 19-year-old college student <\/a>accused him of physically assaulting her and preventing her from leaving his Texas residence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d alum James McCoy Taylor was arrested again in Texas on Friday. Brazos County Sheriff’s Office<\/p>\n

He was initially arrested in August 2024 on charges of assault causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint tied to the incident.<\/p>\n

Taylor pleaded guilty in April 2025 to assaulting a 19-year-old Blinn College student and was ordered to complete 80 hours of community service, pay $750 in fines and $350 in court costs, and attend anger management classes.<\/p>\n

He was also barred from having any contact with the victim and prohibited from entering the Northgate Entertainment District.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d alum was arrested again on Friday after a court revoked his probation and issued a warrant on Feb. 17 over his apparent failure to pay the full amount of his fines.<\/p>\n

The country singer paid $884 of the $1,184 in fines but still owes $300 and made a final $80 payment shortly before his arrest, according to court records obtained by Fox News.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s arrest was in connection with his 2024 assault case, in which he pleaded guilty and was sentenced last year. @jamesmccoytaylor\/Instagram<\/p>\n

In the wake of his August 2024 arrest, Taylor issued a statement to People<\/a> denying any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a pretty big guy but I was trying to \u2018unlawfully restraining\u2019 a girl and she just \u2026 got away?\u2026 and walked right to her Uber right outside my house? With no injuries?\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would never hurt anybody. I\u2019m nice to EVERY person I meet.\u201d<\/p>\n

A probable cause document obtained by the outlet states Taylor met the woman at a College Station bar before bringing her back to his condo, where they began kissing \u2014 until she said she wanted to leave.<\/p>\n

The woman told investigators he allegedly tackled her and pinned her down.<\/p>\n

She also claimed Taylor \u201cgroped her vagina\u201d and \u201cused his body weight to hold her down and kiss her more,\u201d before she was able to wiggle free, escape through the front door and flee before calling police.<\/p>\n

This is not Taylor\u2019s first run-in with the law.<\/p>\n

In September 2022, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon.<\/p>\n

He was sentenced in November 2023 to five days in the Brazos County Detention Center and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $585 in court fees.<\/p>\n

Taylor issued a statement denying any wrongdoing following his arrest in 2024. @jamesmccoytaylor\/Instagram<\/p>\n

The DWI case also led to the temporary suspension of his driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s Friday arrest comes on the heels of ABC axing the next season of \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d<\/a> after a disturbing video tied to Taylor Frankie Paul\u2019s past domestic dispute surfaced.<\/p>\n

The move comes as allegations involving her ex, Dakota Mortensen, continue to unfold and affect her reality TV projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n
