City of Austin staff and contractors successfully completed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austintexas.gov\/department\/barton-springs-skimmer-bypass-project\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Barton Springs Skimmer Bypass Project<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n<p>Save time by purchasing tickets for Barton Springs Pool and Austin\u2019s other year-round pools using the free ATXSwims app available at the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/atxswims\/id1515062236\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mac App Store<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.flowbirdhub.pard.android&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google Play<\/a>. Tickets are also available onsite at ticket kiosks or counter purchases.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austintexas.gov\/department\/barton-springs-skimmer-bypass-project\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The project<\/a> removed and mitigated the decommissioned circa 1940 skimmer bypass to address safety and environmental concerns. During construction, environmental protections for the sensitive salamander habitat were monitored by Austin Watershed Protection. The changes will help support a more stable environment in this critical habitat.<\/p>\n<p>During the closure, Austin Parks and Recreation completed additional deferred maintenance projects within the pool area in preparation for the spring season.
