Calallen extended their winning streak to seven on Saturday, bumping them up to 19-2. They never let the Eagle Pass Eagles get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday’s blowout was nothing new.

Drayton Mitchell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn’t allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn’t given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter’s box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dallin DeBellas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jagger Batek, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

As for Eagle Pass, they have been struggling recently as they’ve lost five of their last six contests. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 7-8-2 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that’s the biggest loss they have suffered since April 4, 2025.

On Eagle Pass’ side, they got a good showing from Andres Cano, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

Looking ahead, Calallen is taking a road trip to challenge Tuloso-Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eagle Pass, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Laredo LBJ at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
