1.\u00a0ICE agents deploy to airports to assist TSA amid partial government shutdown<\/a><\/p>\n

The Trump administration has deployed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to a few U.S. airports to help address long security lines and staffing shortages as Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers continue to go unpaid during the ongoing partial government shutdown.<\/p>\n

According to reporting by\u00a0The New York Times<\/a>, border czar Tom Homan has directed ICE agents to 13 airports nationwide. Those locations include Houston\u2019s William P. Hobby Airport, LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport.<\/p>\n

ICE agents were also seen at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, which was not on the reported list of airports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Supreme Court rejects appeal from Texas death row inmate Rodney Reed<\/a><\/p>\n

The Supreme Court<\/a>\u00a0on Monday rejected an appeal from longtime\u00a0Texas death row inmate Rodney Reed<\/a>, who has sought to test crime-scene evidence he says will help clear him.<\/p>\n

The justices left in place a ruling against Reed from the federal appeals court in New Orleans for the second time in less than three years.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0National average gas price could climb above $4 this week<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite President Donald Trump\u2019s\u00a0announcement Monday<\/a>\u00a0that he will not immediately attack Iran\u2019s energy infrastructure, gas prices are expected to continue to climb. A\u00a0new analysis from GasBuddy<\/a>\u00a0expects the national average for a gallon of gasoline to hit $4, potentially as early as this week.<\/p>\n
