WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WFRV) \u2013 Authorities in Wisconsin say a driver who fled from a traffic stop in early 2026 is now in custody after being arrested in Texas months after the initial incident.<\/p>\n
According to a release from the Wauwatosa Police Department<\/a>, on January 15, officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle, during which time a passenger moved into the driver\u2019s seat and fled from the scene, initiating a pursuit.<\/p>\n The vehicle came to a stop in the front lawn of a home, and the driver ran away from the scene and was not arrested. After being stopped, police say they recovered three firearms from the vehicle, including a \u201cghost\u201d gun and another that had been illegally turned into a fully automatic AR pistol.<\/p>\n 20-year-old dead after hit-and-run in Oconto County, suspect fled from the scene <\/a><\/p>\n The driver was later identified as a convicted felon who was out on parole and was prohibited from possessing any firearms.<\/p>\n On January 29, officials say an anonymous tip was submitted to the Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers alleging that the suspect had fled to Texas and was staying with family members.
