The San Antonio Toros are revived! And the new iteration will include at least four former UTSA players that have signed on to play. Two of those signees, Tight End Oscar Cardenas and Deep Snapper Cade Collenback also played their prep ball in San Antonio and are hoping that their time in the with the Continental Football League will lead to an even greater football opportunity down the road.<\/p>\n
The Toros staff was scouting UTSA’s Pro Day in hopes of signing several more of their former players, if a shot at the NFL or one of the other professional football leagues doesn’t present itself.<\/p>\n
The CoFL has attracted both coaches and players with significant football resumes. NFL legend Jerry Glanville will be the team’s defensive coordinator. Stan Bedwell is the head coach and a lot of the teams playing in this league will be based in Texas.<\/p>\n
The first home game for the Toros is a pre season tilt coming up on May 30th. The first two games for the Toros are on the road.<\/p>\n
All home games will be played at UIW.<\/p>\n

Before the reboot, the San Antonio Toros won five semi-pro consecutive league titles during the 1960’s and mid 1970’s.
