An election is needed to fill the seat after Councilman Brayden Rose resigned from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kfyo.com\/tags\/lubbock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lubbock<\/a> City Council.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a citizen who lives in District 4, you can file to run for office beginning Tuesday, March 24 through April 27. Only citizens who live in District 4 will be allowed to vote in the election.<\/p>\n<p>Early voting for the June 27 Special Election will be June 15-23.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everythinglubbock.com\/news\/local-news\/lubbock-city-council-outlines-district-4-special-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">KAMC<\/a>, the special election will reportedly cost the City of Lubbock $70,000-$90,000.<\/p>\n<p>Special Election Needed to Fill Rose&#8217;s Seat<\/p>\n<p>Lubbock City\u00a0Councilman Brayden Rose was elected to serve as the District 4 Councilman in May of 2024. Earlier in March, he offered his resignation from the Lubbock City Council in order to put his family first.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kfyo.com\/lubbock-councilman-resignation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">READ MORE: Rose Resigns From The Lubbock City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The announcement took most by surprise, but few are blaming the Councilman for stepping down. According to his letter to citizens, Rose has a son who lives with &#8220;significant disabilities&#8221; and as he has gotten older and grown, so to have his health needs.
