The No. 20 LSU Tigers experienced their worst nightmare on Saturday night at home in Baton Rouge against the No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies.<\/p>\n

LSU had a prime opportunity to secure a huge victory, gain late-season momentum, and keep their College Football<\/a> Playoff hopes alive.<\/p>\n

After leading 18-14 at halftime, the Tigers collapsed in the second half, getting outscored 21-0 in the third quarter and 28-7 overall after the break, ultimately falling 49-25 \u2014 a loss that will likely knock them out of the AP Top 25 rankings.<\/p>\n

Following the game, attention shifted to one of LSU\u2019s five-star commits, defensive tackle Lamar Brown, a Louisiana native who attended the game to watch his future team. Fans in the stands were seen urging him to stay committed despite the blowout as he walked off into the tunnel.<\/p>\n

“Lamar, please don’t leave us,” an LSU fan can be heard saying to Brown. <\/p>\n

“We still want you. Please don’t leave yet. Give us one more chance,” another fan shouted.<\/p>\n

While Brown is still expected to remain with the Tigers, the modern college football landscape \u2014 with NIL deals, the transfer portal, and more player mobility \u2014 gives recruits far greater flexibility than ever before. Watching a team get dominated on its home field isn\u2019t exactly an inspiring sight for a future freshman. <\/p>\n

The Tigers entered the season with high expectations under head coach Brian Kelly, but now most of those hopes are dashed. Kelly\u2019s job will certainly be one to watch closely if LSU continues to struggle over the final four games of the regular season.<\/p>\n

LSU now enters its final bye week of the season before closing out with matchups on the road against the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide, at home against Arkansas and Western Kentucky, and finishing on the road against the No. 13 Oklahoma Sooners.<\/p>\n

If the Tigers can win out, they may give themselves a fighting chance to re-enter the College Football Playoff conversation, though they would likely need some help in the SEC, as they currently sit at 5-3.<\/p>\n
