CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Corpus Christi city leaders took another step Tuesday in their search for new water supply options, directing staff to begin negotiating a potential agreement with CC Polymers.<\/p>\n
The move comes as the city continues to explore multiple strategies to strengthen its long-term water supply amid ongoing drought concerns.<\/p>\n
Council members emphasized that while the partnership could offer a cost-effective solution, there is no guarantee it will come together \u2014 and costs could increase over time.<\/p>\n
Councilman Mark Scott cautioned that the project faces significant hurdles.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it’s important to note that the CC Polymers project will be a difficult project to come to fruition,\u201d Scott said. \u201cDoesn’t mean we shouldn’t try, but the citizens should know that this is a long shot.\u201d<\/p>\n
City leaders said they are approaching the negotiations carefully, focusing on realistic expectations while continuing to evaluate other options.<\/p>\n
