Dallas Cowboys<\/a> owner Jerry Jones<\/a> told The Athletic’s Dianna Russini that the team didn’t call the Las Vegas Raiders in an attempt to trade for star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby. He did, however, suggest that the team was looking for help on the defensive side of the ball, but not specifically for a pass-rusher.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say, without incriminating any area of it,\u201d Jones said, \u201cit would be a defensive player. But not a pass rusher.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, a new report from Fox NFL insider Jay Glazer directly contradicts Jones’ comment while adding another star pass-rusher to the fray. On Sunday, Glazer reported the Cowboys called both the Raiders for Crosby and Cincinnati Bengals for Trey Hendrickson.<\/p>\n

“Dallas is trying, they’ve actually called around…they called the Raiders for Maxx Crosby and they were told, ‘no.’ They called the Bengals for Trey Hendrickson and were told ‘no.’ They are calling around for help on defense,” Glazer revealed on Sunday morning. <\/p>\n

The Cowboys field one of the worst defenses in the league, allowing the most yards per game and the third-most points per game through the first seven weeks of the season. Dallas has been left looking for help after trading away star linebacker Micah Parsons, but Jones made it clear he doesn’t regret the trade – even after Parsons’ success.<\/p>\n

\u201cI expected that,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I made the trade, I thought both sides would do well \u2014 us with (defensive tackle Kenny) Clark and the picks, and him up there. We both have good days, and we have our picks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dallas is set to face off against the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
