THE NUMBER NINE HAWKEYES TAKE ON NUMBER FOUR NEBRASKA IN HOUSTON. AND THAT\u2019S WHERE WE FIND SHANNON EARHART LIVE RIGHT NOW. AND SHANNON, IT\u2019S ABOUT TO BE A BIG SHOWDOWN. YOU GUYS, THE PLAYERS DON\u2019T EVEN BELIEVE THAT THIS IS REAL. THE HAWKEYES DON\u2019T EVEN BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE HERE IN HOUSTON PLAYING FOR A SWEET 16. BRANDON HOWSON HAD SOMETHING REALLY FUNNY TO SAY WHEN I ASKED HIM ABOUT THE MAGNITUDE OF THIS GAME, HE SAID, I LITERALLY HAVE WOKEN UP THE PAST THREE MORNINGS AND HAD TO TEXT MY FRIENDS AND ASK, IS THIS REAL? AM I ACTUALLY HERE? YES, YOU ARE ACTUALLY HERE. AND THAT WAS KIND OF THE VIBE AT PRACTICE AND IN THE LOCKER ROOM TODAY. THE PLAYERS HAVEN\u2019T HAD A LOT OF TIME TO REALLY THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY\u2019RE DOING. THE HAWKS WERE HOME FOR LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE FLYING TO HOUSTON. THAT GAVE THEM TIME TO DO LAUNDRY, PRACTICE AND REST A LITTLE. THE LAUNDRY IS THE IMPORTANT PIECE. THEY\u2019RE BENNETT, STERN SAID. I FEEL GREAT, I\u2019M 22 YEARS OLD. IN MY PRIME. LIKE I WAS JUST OUT THERE ON THE COURT TELLING ISAIAH HOWARD, LIKE, WE\u2019RE REALLY IN THE SWEET 16. LIKE, I\u2019M SO EXCITED. LIKE I\u2019VE NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE. BUT THE LITTLE KID IN ME IS SO HAPPY. SO IT\u2019S BEEN REALLY, REALLY COOL. I THINK WE WERE DOUBTED THE WHOLE SEASON. AND THAT\u2019S JUST THE TYPE OF GUYS WE ARE KNOWING. WE REALLY HAD THAT MANY HIGH SCHOOL LOOKS OTHER THAN A COUPLE GUYS. SO YEAH, JUST PEOPLE WERE UNDERLOOKED OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL COMING INTO COLLEGE. SO THAT\u2019S JUST THE TYPE OF TEAM WE HAVE. SO IT\u2019S IOWA, NEBRASKA AT 630 ON TBS HERE IN HOUSTON. BENNETT STURTZ TOLD ME HE DELETED ALL OF HIS SOCIAL MEDIA. HE DOESN\u2019T WANT TO LET ANYTHING GET TO HIM, STAYING VERY LEVEL HEADED.
