The game ended after the top of the seventh inning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/sports\/college\/longhorns\/baseball\/article\/texas-baseball-mercy-rule-longhorns-21940459.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">because of the SEC\u2019s run rule<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>The No. 2 team in the D1Baseball poll, Texas is now 21-4 with a 5-2 mark in conference play. Those two SEC losses had been recorded in the openers of their series against\u00a0Ole Miss and Auburn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MM_onlineOnly\" title=\"CCI Online Only\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/newsletters\/hookem\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">More: Subscribe to the Statesman&#8217;s Texas sports newsletter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Two days after Texas was held to three hits in a surprising loss at Houston on Tuesday, the Longhorns rattled off 17 hits against six Oklahoma pitches. The biggest swing was Casey Borba\u2019s 427-foot homer over the bullpen in left field during the fifth inning.<\/p>\n<p>Borba ended up going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and six RBIs. Adrian Rodriguez, Temo Becerra, Anthony Pack Jr. and Jayden Duplantier also drove in runs for the Longhorns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>All of that offense supported UT starting pitcher\u00a0Ruger Riojas, who allowed five hits over his seven innings. Having thrown 85 pitches, Ruger Riojas will return to the mound in an attempt to close out this game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>End 5: Texas 14, Oklahoma 0<\/p>\n<p>The ninth home run of Casey Borba&#8217;s season was a 427-foot blast over the bullpen in left field at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. That swing drove in two of the three runs that Texas scored in the fifth frame.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Borba has homered eight times over his last 13 games. Last season, Borba went deep 12 times over 51 games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Mid 5: Texas 11, Oklahoma 0<\/p>\n<p>Texas starting pitcher\u00a0Ruger Riojas flirted with danger during the fifth inning, but the Longhorns&#8217; shutout bid remains intact. Riojas struck out Oklahoma&#8217;s Camden Johnson to end a bases-loaded threat. Through five innings, Riojas has struck out six batters while allowing five hits and one walk.<\/p>\n<p>End 4: Texas 11, Oklahoma 0<\/p>\n<p>Texas continues to rout its Red River rival. The Longhorns added four more runs in the fourth frame as Temo Becerra&#8217;s RBI single and Jayden Duplantier&#8217;s two-run single plated runs and\u00a0Texas also scored on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>During the fourth inning, Oklahoma made its third pitching change of the night. During that break, the fans in attendance at\u00a0UFCU Disch-Falk Field were able to watch the final seconds of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/sports\/college\/longhorns\/mens-basketball\/article\/texas-longhorns-score-today-purdue-basketball-22091789.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">UT men&#8217;s basketball team&#8217;s Sweet 16 loss to Purdue<\/a> on one of the stadium&#8217;s video boards. After the Longhorns were beaten by a last-season basket, some of the UT baseball fans stood for an ovation from afar.<\/p>\n<p>End 3: Texas 7, Oklahoma 0<\/p>\n<p>The game&#8217;s first seven runs have all been scored by Texas. Casey Borba and Jayden Duplantier combined to drive in three runs with their third-inning doubles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma went to its bullpen with no outs in the inning and Duplantier on second base. That decision ended LJ Mercurius&#8217; night after the right-hander was tagged for 10 hits,\u00a0three walks and seven earned runs. Over his first 33 \u2154 innings this season, Mercurius allowed 19 hits, 10 walks and seven earned runs.<\/p>\n<p>End 2: Texas 4, Oklahoma 0<\/p>\n<p>Texas came up empty as it attempted to extend its lead in the second inning. The Longhorns loaded the bases with one out, but Adrian Rodriguez grounded into a double play to end the threat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>End 1: Texas 4, Oklahoma 0<\/p>\n<p>After producing just three hits <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/sports\/college\/longhorns\/baseball\/article\/texas-houston-score-today-college-baseball-22091421.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">in Tuesday&#8217;s 9-7 loss at Houston<\/a>, the Texas offense exceeded that effort in Thursday&#8217;s first inning. Four hits by the Longhorns led to the evening&#8217;s first four runs with the biggest knocks being Adrian Rodriguez&#8217;s RBI double, Temo Becerra&#8217;s RBI single and Casey Borba&#8217;s two-run single.<\/p>\n<p>Mid 1: Oklahoma 0, Texas 0<\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma had a chance to strike early at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, but a play at the plate kept the Sooners off the scoreboard. After\u00a0Trey Gambill doubled on the game&#8217;s first pitch and was bunted over to third base, Brendan\u00a0Brock\u00a0grounded a baseball back to pitcher Ruger Riojas. Riojas tried to hold Gambill at third base, but the Oklahoma leadoff hitter broke for home after UT&#8217;s starting pitcher threw to first base for the inning&#8217;s second out.
