A cold front will move through the North Texas area on Friday morning, bringing gusty northerly winds, falling temperatures, and a slight chance of light rain behind it.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service Forth Worth\/Dallas issued a bulletin<\/a> about the cold front on Thursday afternoon. According to the bulletin, areas in the northwest will observe high temperatures Friday morning, while most other areas will be over the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Winds behind the front will be 15-25 mph with gusts up to 30-35 mph. Residents should make sure to secure any loose outdoor items and be aware of the approximately 20% chance for light rain coming behind the front.<\/p>\n

Saturday is expected to stay relatively cool before the weather warms up again on Sunday. That trend of mid to upper 80s and even low 90s will continue into the week.<\/p>\n

There is currently little chance of rainfall during the week. As such, the NWS expects elevated fire weather conditions in western potions of North and Central Texas in the afternoons. <\/p>\n

The National Weather Service Lubbock issued a bulletin<\/a> on Thursday evening noting that the red flag warning remains in effect from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday due to strong winds and relative humidity for the far southern Texas Panhandle, South Plains, and Rolling Plains.<\/p>\n

Wind will be going north at 25-35 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph. Humidity will be as low as 25% in the far southeastern Texas Panhandle and at or above 30 % elsewhere across West Texas.<\/p>\n

The bulletin notes that fuels are critically to extremely dry.
