The governor’s office says funds will support wastewater pipe replacement at NAS Corpus Christi and water generation units at Corpus Christi Army Depot.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Corpus Christi is receiving more than $3 million in new state funding aimed at strengthening military infrastructure and water systems at two key defense facilities.

The funding comes through Governor Greg Abbott’s announcement of more than $26 million in grants distributed to Texas military communities under the Texas Military Preparedness Commission’s Defense Economic Adjustment Assistance Grant program.

For Corpus Christi, two major projects are included.

The first, at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, for $2.074 million, will go toward replacing aging domestic wastewater collection pipes.

For the second, the funds will go to Corpus Christi Army Depot. $990,000 will fund the installation of four atmospheric water generation units to support high-demand production areas.

State officials say the investments are intended to improve water reliability, modernize infrastructure, and support long-term mission readiness across Texas military installations.

Governor Abbott said the funding helps ensure military facilities remain up to date and resilient, particularly in areas tied to water access and operational needs.

The grants are part of a broader statewide effort supporting multiple installations, including Fort Bliss, Fort Hood, and Joint Base San Antonio, as Texas continues to invest in defense-related infrastructure and jobs.

The governor’s office says funds will support wastewater pipe replacement at NAS Corpus Christi and water generation units…

[14
155,157,156
post-222943","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-corpus-christi","tag-corpus-christi","tag-corpus-christi-headlines","tag-corpus-christi-news
["GET
