The West 35th Street Water and Wastewater Pipeline Renewal Project is part of Renewing Austin<\/a>, a program strengthening our community\u2019s infrastructure by replacing deteriorating water system lines throughout the city.\u00a0<\/p>\n The project will add 1,500 linear feet of water line, 650 linear feet of wastewater line, and 750 linear feet of storm drain along West 35th Street between Mopac and Exposition Boulevard. We’re also installing nine new storm drain inlets along the corridor. With these improvements, we’re conserving more water, improving reliability for our customers, and reducing spending on repairs for the frequently breaking and leaking water lines in this area.<\/p>\n Partnerships<\/p>\n Austin Water is carrying out these planned replacements in collaboration with Austin Watershed Protection,<\/a> which recently identified a need for storm drain improvements in the same project area. By completing these upgrades simultaneously, we are minimizing the number of times construction will be necessary along this corridor.<\/p>\n Austin Water partners with Austin Capital Delivery Services (ACDS) for the construction phase of Renewing Austin projects, and their project management staff will supervise construction.<\/p>\n Timeline<\/p>\n The project is scheduled to begin in late November or early December of 2025 and take approximately 10 months to complete.
