It will showcase all four EPSYO performing ensembles, under the direction of conductors Nathan Black, Jose Rios, Rodrigo Maldonado, and Jennifer Martinez.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Nathan Black\/EPSO\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1d9579e71273fffed9aa9f9d41e33f90.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Nathan Black\/EPSO<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Jennifer Martinez\/EPSO\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"839\" height=\"719\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/261c0df8f990c956a8561c9b1324d80f.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Martinez\/EPSO<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The concerts will open with a performance by students from\u00a0Tocando Music Project.\u00a0 They will be joined by Bowie High School\u2019s\u00a0Mariachi Orgullo\u00a0to perform\u00a0\u201cCerca del Mar,\u201d\u00a0\u201cEl Rey,\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cDe Colores.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Tocando is a free after-school program of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra that provides music learning and performing opportunities to elementary through high-school students in El Paso\u2019s El Segundo Barrio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The\u00a0El Paso Youth String Philharmonic\u00a0(YSP) is a strings-only ensemble designed for musicians with limited orchestral experience. Under the direction of Rodrigo Maldonado, the ensemble will perform two pieces by contemporary composers:\u00a0\u201cMedieval Kings\u201d\u00a0by Soon Hee Newbold and\u00a0\u201cThe Lost Tomb\u201d\u00a0by Sean O\u2019Loughlin. They will also perform\u00a0\u201cThe Great Gate of Kiev\u201d\u00a0by Mussorgsky.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The\u00a0El Paso Youth String Ensemble\u00a0(YSE), led by Jennifer Martinez, will perform Mozart\u2019s\u00a0\u201cFinding Figaro,\u201d\u00a0Sibelius\u2019s\u00a0\u201cFinlandia,\u201d\u00a0and Rossini\u2019s\u00a0\u201cWilliam Tell Overture.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Martinez will be honored at this concert, as it marks her farewell performance with YSE. She has been a member of the EPSYO faculty since 2017, initially serving as the viola sectional coach. In 2021, she took on the role of conductor for YSE. Notably, Martinez was also a student in the program from 2010 to 2013.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Conductor Jose Rios will lead the\u00a0El Paso Youth Symphony\u00a0(YS) to close out the first half of the program in Schubert\u2019s\u00a0\u201cSymphony No. 8,\u00a01st\u00a0movement\u201d and\u00a0\u201cThe Moldau\u201d\u00a0by Smetana.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The second half of the program will feature EPSYO\u2019s advanced orchestra, the\u00a0El Paso Youth Orchestra\u00a0(YO), conducted by Nathan Black, in Dvo\u0159\u00e1k\u2019s\u00a0\u201cCarnival Overture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Tickets\u00a0are on sale now and may be purchased at epso.org or by calling the EPSO office (915) 532-3776.
