EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Strong spring winds returned to the Borderland, kicking up dust and pollen that lowered visibility and created difficult driving conditions across El Paso.<\/p>\n
Residents in the Upper Valley described gusty conditions that made travel feel unsafe at times.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really haven’t experienced anything like it. I kind of realized it when my car was just shaking on the road,\u201d one person said.<\/p>\n
The wind also brought blowing dust that some said can trigger seasonal allergies and make people feel ill.<\/p>\n

I always get sick from this weather,\u201d another resident said.<\/p>\n Drivers urged others to slow down, use caution and secure loose items that could become airborne.<\/p>\n \u201cI do try to drive a little bit safer. Of course, obviously, you never know what’s gonna fly by. I don’t know if you all have seen those videos of like trampolines just flying by. So that’s definitely scary,\u201d one person said. <\/p>\n Another added, \u201cStay safe, preferably stay inside just to be safer. Drive on the roads only if you have to.\u201d<\/p>\n Emily Schmalz reports on windy conditions<\/p>\n<\/p>\n For people new to the area, the region’s spring winds can be a surprise.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m from San Francisco,\u201d one resident said. \u201cIt has its days, but it’s never this windy from what I can remember.\u201d <\/p>\n Visitors from out of state also noted the difference. <\/p>\n \u201cWe’re from Colorado,\u201d another person said. \u201cNo, we definitely don’t get the dust storms like this.\u201d<\/p>\n
