WACO, Texas \u2013 The UT Arlington track & field team finished the first day of competition at the Clyde Hart Classic in Waco, Texas, hosted by Baylor. –#BuckEm\u2014<\/p>\n \nFOLLOW ALONG

\nThe day was highlighted by senior Jaalah Puyear, who broke the school record in the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 56.90 meters. Her throw surpassed the previous record of 56.11 meters by 0.79 meters.

\nFreshman Lucas Cano<\/a> claimed the men’s discus title with a throw of 52.59 meters, topping competitors from programs including TCU, SFA, ULM and Sam Houston State.

\nSeveral Mavericks turned in personal best performances, including Esther Adedire<\/a> (48.22m, women’s hammer), Joey Haws<\/a> (48.44m, men’s discus) and Kali Todman<\/a> (1:06.75, women’s 400m hurdles), while Azaryah Jakcson placed third in the women’s discus with a personal best of 47.36m.
