Dean, M.D. Community Impact Day and Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 25.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-139410 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Community-Impact-Day-2-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"189\"  \/>More than 500 volunteers served at 30 site locations across Brown County and El Paso. Service activities in Brown County included painting, cleaning, yardwork and visiting with nursing home residents. HPU\u2019s El Paso campus partnered with Crosspoint Church by providing 10 boxes for their food pantry and painting their lobby.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-139411 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Community-Impact-Day-3-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"173\"  \/>\u201cIt is such a joy to partner in what God is doing with our local communities,\u201d said Dr. Cory Hines, university president. \u201cWe would like to thank Harbor Freight for providing gloves and five-gallon buckets and United Supermarkets for providing cases of water for the event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-139412 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Community-Impact-Day-4-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"263\"  \/>The annual event is open to any non-profit organization in the greater Brown County area. Guenther spoke at HPU\u2019s Wednesday morning chapel service and addressed HPU personnel at a luncheon prior to the service projects.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-139413 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Community-Impact-Day-5-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"241\" height=\"181\"  \/>In 2021, HPU was awarded a $200,000 grant by the Dean Foundation to establish the annual service event. The Dean Foundation is chaired by Dr. David A. Dean, son of the late Dr. William B. Dean, distinguished Dallas-area pediatrician and trailblazer in conditions affecting children such as dyslexia and polio. Dr. David A. Dean serves as chair of the North Texas Crime Commission as well as president and CEO of the public policy consultancy Dean International, Inc. He served the State of Texas for more than a decade as general counsel to Democratic Governor Dolph Briscoe and Republican Governor William P. Clements, Jr. He also served as Texas Secretary of State under Governor Clements. He earned the Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University and the Juris Doctor degree from the University of Texas at Austin.<\/p>\n<p>###<\/p>\n<p>Cutline 1: Howard Payne University held its fifth annual William B.
