Here’s what to know about the demonstrations.

In the Texas capital, organizers said they are working in tandem with other protests heads across the country in an attempt to make it the “largest protest day in American history,” writing: “Tu lucha es mi lucha.”

“Silence is not an option when our families are under attack. From Iran to Venezuela to our own streets, the costs of this administration’s cruelty fall on real people,” the event description read in part. “That’s why we need you. The first-ever event was held on June 14, 2025, coinciding with both the U.S. Army’s 250th Anniversary Parade and Trump’s 79th birthday. The namesake, “no kings,” refers to the democratic principles foundational to the United States and organizers’ sharp criticisms of Trump, who they say mimics monarchial rulings instead of democratic ones.

“Masked secret police terrorizing our communities. An illegal, catastrophic war putting us in danger and driving up our costs. Attacks on our freedom of speech, our civil rights, our freedom to vote.
