DENVER \u2014 Cowboys owner Jerry Jones<\/a> said earlier this month, amid the team\u2019s defensive struggles, that he would share a foxhole with defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. <\/a><\/p>\n

Jones reiterated his support for the type of coach Eberflus is after the defense\u2019s latest struggle: a 44-24 road loss to the Denver Broncos<\/a> on Sunday. There was a slight opening for the need to make some changes, however. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think, after a game like this, you say boy, we need to make some adjustments,\u201d Jones said. \u201cWhat the truth is: probably some adjustments. More adjustments. Maybe late in that second quarter, maybe some more adjustments. That\u2019s second-guessing. Maybe a little more pressure, second-guessing.\u201d<\/p>\n

There was plenty of room on Sunday to second-guess the defensive performance against the Broncos. <\/a>The Cowboys were undermanned and definitely outgunned. Aside from an interception from rookie Trikweze Bridges on the opening drive, they struggled to slow a Broncos offense that was middle of the pack entering Sunday. <\/p>\n

After admitting to some potential adjustments needed, Jones voiced his support for Eberflus. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhere he does know how is to evaluate what he\u2019s trying to do,\u201d Jones said when asked if he still has faith in Eberflus. \u201cAnd he\u2019s a good coach in coaching them up and correcting their mistakes and getting him in there. I\u2019ve seen him take players and units and they improve and get better as he coaches them. I\u2019ve seen that. I\u2019ve seen it more than once. He\u2019s a good coach.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cowboys entered the week as a bottom-three team in the NFL in points allowed per game, yards allowed per game, and third-down percentage. Those rankings likely won\u2019t improve after this week\u2019s performance against the Broncos.<\/p>\n
