In March, TV personalities made headlines for jumping from city to city \u2014 but San Antonio also learned of layoffs and the arrest of one meteorologist. Here&#8217;s what you may have missed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-channels-pixel.ex.co\/events\/0012000001fxZm9AAE?integrationType=DEFAULT&amp;template=design%2Farticle%2Fplatypus_two_column.tpl\" alt=\"\" class=\"x1px y1px vh abs\" aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>KSAT 12 confirms sudden layoffs<\/p>\n<p>On March 3, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/entertainment\/article\/ksat-layoffs-21952575.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">layoffs swept across<\/a> San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT 12, but how many were impacted, as well as in what areas, was unclear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have made staffing adjustments as part of an ongoing review of our business and operational needs,&#8221; a spokesperson for the station wrote in a statement to MySA. &#8220;These actions impacted a limited number of positions and were not related to individual performance. We remain committed to supporting our employees through this transition and continuing to serve our community with high-quality local journalism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CBS News Texas reporter and fill-in anchor Nicole Nielsen leaves after six years<\/p>\n<p>Nearly six years after joining the station in June 2020, CBS News Texas reporter and fill-in anchor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/news\/houston-texas\/article\/cbs-texas-reporter-kprc-nielsen-22091818.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Nicole Nielsen<\/a> announced her departure on March 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, 6 years, countless memories and hundreds of stories later, you will no longer see me on CBS News Texas,&#8221; Nielson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DVbejtNDuUu\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">wrote on Instagram<\/a>. &#8220;A lot has changed in my life in the past year, and it is time for a new adventure. Thank you DFW for allowing me inside your homes and for trusting me with your stories. It was the honor of a lifetime, and I leave this job extremely proud. Onto the next chapter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Her next move was to join KPRC 2 in Houston, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWFdsKxjhHJ\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=f6eeabf2-c367-425e-a832-a56dc3fc4594&amp;img_index=1\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">she announced on Instagram<\/a> on March 19.<\/p>\n<p>Reporter Madison\u00a0Myers joins KXAN in Austin<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a new reporter settled in at Austin station KXAN. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/entertainment\/article\/madison-myers-kxan-21954722.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Madison Myers<\/a>, a Dallas native, joined the NBC affiliate in February after two years at KXXV in Waco. She told MySA in early March that the move to Austin has been &#8220;a breath of fresh air.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Myers covers Hays County, the growing I-35 corridor and cities like Buda, Kyle and San Marcos. She said, &#8220;I am loving the station. I am loving Austin. The people here are great. The community is great.\u00a0And again &#8230; there&#8217;s so many good stories to tell here, and so it&#8217;s kind of the perfect location, I feel like, for journalism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meteorologist Elliot Wilson out at\u00a0KSAT 12 after arrest, assault charge<\/p>\n<p>Meteorologist Elliot Wilson\u00a0was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/news\/local\/article\/ksat-elliot-wilson-arrested-22075094.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">charged with Class A misdemeanor assault<\/a> causing bodily injury to a family member on March 13, according to court records. Days later, a spokesperson for KSAT 12 confirmed with\u00a0MySA\u00a0that Wilson \u2014 who joined the\u00a0weather team in December 2025 \u2014 is &#8220;no longer an employee&#8221; of the station.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 32-year-old Indianapolis native was arrested on March 12 &#8220;following an investigation into a domestic assault that left a victim with a broken nose,&#8221; a deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff&#8217;s Office told MySA in an email. At the time of publication, Wilson has a court appearance set for April 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>KIII adds meteorologist\u00a0Kellianne Klass in Corpus Christi<\/p>\n<p>Corpus Christi weather desks have seen a massive front of changes in recent months, including new chief\u00a0meteorologists and sudden exits. Another one came on March 16 as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/entertainment\/article\/kellianne-klass-kiii-corpus-christi-texas-21988248.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Kellianne Klass<\/a> officially joined KIII. Klass came to the station after five years at WESH 2 in Orlando, Florida, where she covered all types of severe weather from tornadoes and record-breaking cold to wildfires and hurricanes. However, it wasn&#8217;t her first time in the Lone Star State, as\u00a0Klass previously worked at KLNK and KAMC in Lubbock.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m excited to bring my expertise to the KIII weather team, and help get your day started,&#8221; Klass said in a release. &#8220;Having covered some of the most powerful storms in recent years, I understand how critical timely, accurate information is, and I\u2019m dedicated to bringing that to the community every day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Former KSAT 12 anchor Mark Austin makes career switch<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio viewers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/entertainment\/article\/ksat-mark-austin-19531573.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">said goodbye to longtime KSAT 12 anchor Mark Austin<\/a> back in 2024. However, he&#8217;s been active on his social media page, Post Oak Pits &amp; Poles, ever since and\u00a0recently shared a major new career pivot. This time, he&#8217;s back on the air \u2014 &#8220;or should I say, in the air?&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWARsUIDVkq\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Austin joked on Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have done something completely crazy, and I am now a flight attendant for Delta Airlines,&#8221; he said in a March 17 video. &#8220;Can you believe it? I still don&#8217;t know what I&#8217;m doing, but it&#8217;s a lot of fun and today, I&#8217;m talking to you from St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. We head back to Atlanta today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nelly Carreno jumps to CBS News Texas from Univision<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/news\/houston-texas\/article\/cbs-texas-newsroom-changes-22086149.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">CBS News Texas<\/a> had a bit of a revolving door this month as former Univision 23 KUVN chief meteorologist Nelly Carreno made her debut on March 23. The jump was from one Dallas-based TV station to another, and Carreno <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DV_ZRzzEQZK\/?img_index=1\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">said on Instagram<\/a> that she&#8217;ll still be able to do some things in Spanish, &#8220;which is very important to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>According to her post, Carreno will bring viewers the 11 a.m. weather and will\u00a0eventually add the 4 p.m. weekday forecast.
