Several Republicans who thought they were delegates to the Texas GOP convention in Houston this summer discovered that they were kicked off of the list.<\/p>\n
Barbara Brewer, who repeatedly spoke out against an attempt to split the Keller school district last year, and Zee Wilcox, who sued Tarrant GOP<\/a> chair Tim Davis after she was removed from the House District 98 primary ballot, were among those whose names were taken off of the list by the Tarrant County Republican Party.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m trying to hold the board accountable,\u201d Brewer said, referring to the Keller school board. \u201cEvery time we think we\u2019re moving forward, [Tarrant GOP officials] are doing something like this.\u201d<\/p>\n Brewer said when she learned that she was no longer a delegate, she questioned the reasoning behind it.<\/a><\/p>\n Tarrant GOP chair Tim Davis did not respond to an email or return a phone call Monday seeking comment.<\/p>\n Brewer said she followed all the procedures, including voting in the Republican primary and attending her precinct convention.<\/p>\n \u201cThe only way to remove a delegate is for someone in the precinct to challenge that, and that didn\u2019t happen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Brewer said that when she protested her removal, people attending the Senate District 9 convention spoke in opposition of Brewer and began reading Facebook posts concerning the proposed Keller school district split.<\/p>\n \u201cThey were running a rogue meeting already. I can\u2019t even believe what I witnessed. It was a witch hunt,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Brewer said former board President Charles Randklev, who led the efforts to split the district and is now running for City Council<\/a>, and former Trustee Micah Young, who also supported a split, are delegates.<\/p>\n Wilcox, who was reinstated in the House District 98 primary after she sued Davis, said she was not going to remain silent.<\/p>\n \u201cI grew up in a communist country, and I know what that looks like,\u201d said Wilcox, who grew up in Czechoslovakia. \u201cThey are trying to silence people.\u201d<\/p>\n Wilcox said she is considering another lawsuit if she is not put back on the delegate list.<\/p>\n Six other Republicans who spoke against the split, including Jeniffer and Bernard Guerrero, were also removed as delegates as was James Trimm, an assistant to Republican state Rep. David Lowe, who spoke on behalf of Lowe at Keller board meetings.<\/p>\n The convention is June 11-13<\/a> at the George R.
