Walker Janek, a 23-year-old catcher and Gregory-Portland graduate, has been assigned to the Corpus Christi Hooks roster for the 2026 season. Janek is the first Coastal Bend native to play for the Hooks since Brooks Kieschnick in 2005. The Astros’ top-5 prospect is known for his defensive skills behind the plate and is looking forward to playing in front of his hometown crowd.<\/p>\n
