HOUSTON\u00a0(March\u00a031,\u00a02026)\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Dynamo\u00a0&\u00a0Dash\u00a0Charities,\u00a0the\u00a0charitable\u00a0foundation of\u00a0Houston Dynamo Football Club, the\u00a0Houston Marathon Foundation (HMF)\u00a0and\u00a0Chevron\u00a0are excited to announce the second annual\u00a0Family Fun Run\u00a0at\u00a0Houston Sports Park\u00a0(12131 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77045) on Saturday, April 11, just after World Health Day on April 7.<\/p>\n

This event, which starts at 8:00 a.m. CT, aims to promote health and fitness within families\u00a0and\u00a0communitiesthrough\u00a0a\u00a01-mile\u00a0and\u00a02-mile\u00a0course,\u00a0encouraging\u00a0participants to\u00a0take\u00a0small\u00a0steps\u00a0towards\u00a0fun,\u00a0healthierlifestyles\u00a0and\u00a0providing\u00a0a\u00a0platform\u00a0for\u00a0families to engage in physical activity together.<\/p>\n

Notably, participants will receive a free ticket to a\u00a0Houston Dynamo\u00a0or\u00a0Houston Dash\u00a0match\u00a0at\u00a0Shell\u00a0EnergyStadium. Details\u00a0on\u00a0how\u00a0to\u00a0claim the\u00a0ticket\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0sent\u00a0via\u00a0email following the event.<\/p>\n

Wade Morehead, Houston Marathon Foundation Executive Director added, \u201cHosting the Family Fun Run alongside the Dynamo & Dash Charities provides a fun and meaningful platform to introduce local youth to the many benefits of running\u2014building confidence, improving health, and developing goal-setting skills\u2014all while connecting with others and celebrating their achievements.\u201d<\/p>\n

This\u00a0event,\u00a0presented\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0Houston\u00a0Marathon\u00a0Foundation\u00a0(HMF),\u00a0reflects\u00a0the\u00a0shared values of both organizations in promoting wellness and community engagement.<\/p>\n

Chevron\u00a0is\u00a0the\u00a0key\u00a0sponsor\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0event,\u00a0which\u00a0is\u00a0expected\u00a0to\u00a0attract\u00a0over 100 supporters cheering close to 2,500 participants along the course.<\/p>\n

Attendees\u00a0can\u00a0look\u00a0forward\u00a0to\u00a0receiving\u00a0shirts,\u00a0medals\u00a0and\u00a0a\u00a0variety\u00a0of\u00a0giveaways\u00a0at\u00a0the post-run festival as part of the $15 registration fee. The festival will include local food trucks (DonutNV, Kona Ice and Travelin\u2019 Tom\u2019s Coffee Truck), as well as a variety of activities including soccer drills, Chevron STEM Zone activations, bounce houses, a climbing wall, a gaming truck, face painting, balloons and more.<\/p>\n

As the official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of the Houston Dynamo Football Club, Dynamo\u00a0&\u00a0DashCharities\u00a0believes\u00a0in\u00a0using\u00a0the\u00a0sport\u00a0of\u00a0soccer\u00a0to\u00a0support\u00a0communities in the greater Houston area. Founded in 2007, the HMF is a non-profit focused on increasing accessibility to the life-changing sport of long-distance running and promoting running as an element of a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The HMF has awarded $320,000 year-to-date in scholarships for local high school graduates and has funded the training for over 7,000 elementary to high school students through the We Run Houston after-school program supporting at-risk youth.
