A national steakhouse<\/a> and seafood chain has quietly closed one of its few Houston locations. McCormick & Schmick\u2019s<\/a> is no longer open at Town & Country Village. The restaurant, which was located at 791 Town and Country Blvd., has already been stripped of its signage at the Memorial<\/a> retail development and removed from the chain\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

Shah Ghani, COO of McCormick & Schmick\u2019s, told Chron in a statement they had sold the lease and assets to a new ownership group. The restaurant officially closed on Friday, March 27.<\/p>\n

“We are incredibly thankful for our loyal guests and our dedicated team throughout our time at this location. We are working to relocate our staff to nearby sister locations in the area. We wish the new owner nothing but success in their future,” Ghani said.<\/p>\n

The restaurant made its Town & Country Village debut in 2010, CultureMap Houston<\/a> reported. Then executive chef Bill McKinley was also one of the first graduates from the Art Institute of Houston.<\/p>\n

McCormick & Schmick’s was established in 1974. At it’s peak, it operated around 80 to 90 restaurants across the U.S. Landry’s Inc., Tilman Fertitta’s\u00a0 hospitality company, purchased the chain in 2012. Today, the chain is down to 16 locations nationwide.\u00a0Now that the Town & Country Village location is closed, there are only two of the seafood, steak and oyster chain’s locations left in Houston: the downtown steakhouse at 1201 Fannin St. and the one in Uptown Park Shopping Center at 1151 Uptown Park Blvd. These also happen to be McCormick & Schmick\u2019s only outposts in Texas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A national steakhouse and seafood chain has quietly closed one of its few Houston locations.
