{"id":229005,"date":"2026-03-31T19:21:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T19:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/229005\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T19:21:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T19:21:07","slug":"h-e-b-rival-sets-grand-opening-for-1-75m-austin-area-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/229005\/","title":{"rendered":"H-E-B rival sets grand opening for $1.75M Austin-area store"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Germany&#8217;s version of\u00a0H-E-B has revealed the opening date of its newest discount grocery store in Central Texas.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/business\/article\/aldi-cedar-park-20811805.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Aldi<\/a> recently announced on social media that the grocer&#8217;s latest Austin-area store is &#8220;coming soon&#8221; this week.<\/p>\n<p>Last August, Aldi submitted a state filing for the $1.75 million store in Cedar Park, a suburb about 20 miles north of Austin. Construction on the 23,606-square-foot store was expected to begin in September 2025 and projected to be completed by February, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdlr.texas.gov\/TABS\/Search\/Project\/TABS2025025259\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">TDLR filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This new\u00a0Aldi, located at 850 N. Bell Blvd., Suite 104, will be across the street from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/H-E-B\/@30.5196476,-97.8278719,16z\/data=!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x865b2d00895558e1:0x386d6f9dc17165c2!2s850+N+Bell+Blvd+%23104,+Cedar+Park,+TX+78613!3b1!8m2!3d30.5196476!4d-97.8278719!16s%2Fg%2F11h9ry4rkj!3m5!1s0x865b2daaaf6c970f:0xee9535654bc4e7c4!8m2!3d30.522276!4d-97.828349!16s%2Fg%2F1tk_k3qw?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDMyNC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">H-E-B on Whitestone Boulevard<\/a>, which could mean Aldi isn&#8217;t afraid of a little friendly competition from\u00a0Texas&#8217; homegrown grocer. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/08\/06\/business\/aldi-grocery-expansion.html\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">New York Times reported last year<\/a> that Aldi&#8217;s goal is to operate 3,200 stores in the U.S. by 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Essen, Germany, Aldi has grown to boast over 2,600 stores across the U.S. In Texas, Aldi operates 128 stores across the state, mainly in small suburbs outside big metros. Aldi currently has six locations serving Central Texas in smaller cities like Pflugerville, Georgetown, Temple, Killeen and Waco.<\/p>\n<p>H-E-B operates over 359 stores throughout Texas, so Aldi still has a ways to go to compete with the San Antonio-based grocery chain in its home turf.<\/p>\n<p>MySA reached out to Aldi for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Find it: 850 N.
