SAN ANTONIO – A motorcycle chase ended with a major crash that left the motorcyclist hospitalized with major injuries.<\/p>\n
At about 7:55 a.m. on March 31, 2026, a deputy allegedly saw a motorcyclist driving recklessly along Culebra Road, near Roft Road on the far West Side.<\/p>\n
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound and was seen weaving in and out of bumper-to-bumper traffic between the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes.<\/p>\n
The deputy activated emergency lights in an attempt to slow the motorcyclist as they approached the patrol unit, but the motorcyclist continued to pass the vehicle. <\/p>\n
The deputy moved to the center median, activated sirens, and followed directly behind the motorcyclist, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the motorcyclist looked back at the patrol vehicle but did not stop and continued moving between lanes of stopped traffic. <\/p>\n
After seeing the deputy ahead, the motorcyclist cut across traffic and began traveling westbound on Culebra Road in an attempt to evade the stop, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
A short time later, the deputy arrived at a crash site where the motorcyclist had lost control. <\/p>\n
The rider was found lying face down on the sidewalk and reported pain in the leg, hip, and back, authorities said. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office said the motorcyclist\u2019s identification will be released once the magistrate process has been completed. <\/p>\n
