SAN ANTONIO \u2013 A former San Antonio firefighter was sentenced to four years behind bars and probation on multiple counts of child sexual assault. <\/p>\n
Joshua Dyba, 33, was arrested in October 2024 for two instances of sexual assault of a child that occurred in December 2022 and January 2023, according to Comal County jail records. <\/p>\n
The case was tried in March 2026 in the 466th District Court. An official with the Comal County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Dyba was sentenced by a jury to two years in prison on two counts and probation on a third count. The judge ordered they run consecutively. <\/p>\n
A fourth count was waived prior to giving the case to the jury due to the victim not testifying to the count, an official said. <\/p>\n
The conditions of Dyba’s probation will be determined at a future hearing. That date has not been set yet. <\/p>\n
