{"id":230166,"date":"2026-04-01T12:27:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T12:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/230166\/"},"modified":"2026-04-01T12:27:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T12:27:13","slug":"camp-mystic-applies-to-reopen-months-after-deadly-hill-country-floods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/230166\/","title":{"rendered":"Camp Mystic applies to reopen months after deadly Hill Country floods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO &#8211; Nearly nine months have passed since the catastrophic Fourth of July floods in the Hill Country.<\/p>\n<p>The floods claimed the lives of 27 Camp Mystic campers and counselors.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the camp has officially filed with the state to reopen.<\/p>\n<p>News 4 San Antonio\u2019s Kristina De Leon has more on what comes next.<\/p>\n<p>State officials confirm that Camp Mystic has officially applied for a license renewal to reopen in the coming months for the upcoming summer season.<\/p>\n<p>A license renewal application was received by the state on the final day for youth camps to file for a license or license renewal.<\/p>\n<p>The camp\u2019s Cypress Lake campus is aiming to reopen this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Under a court order last month, the camp\u2019s Guadalupe campus cannot be altered, modified, or used for camp operation purposes. That location is still part of an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement from Camp Mystic, they said in part:<\/p>\n<p>Camp Mystic has submitted a license application for Camp Mystic Cypress Lake with the Texas Department of State Health Services.
