MANVEL, Texas \u2013 Manvel police say seven people were arrested following a multi-day online sting targeting suspected child predators, and one of those arrested has been linked to the Children\u2019s Museum of Houston.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, the operation began last Wednesday and involved the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force along with multiple law enforcement agencies. <\/p>\n
Authorities said the suspects believed they were communicating with minors online.<\/p>\n
All seven men are now facing charges of online solicitation of a minor.<\/p>\n
Police identified one of the suspects as 50-year-old Louis Anthony Salinas, who they say may also go by Tony Salinas. <\/p>\n
Officials confirmed Salinas is a former employee of the Children\u2019s Museum of Houston.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the museum said it took immediate action after learning of the allegations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe maintain strict policies and procedures designed to protect children, including thorough background checks and clear standards of conduct for all staff,\u201d said Henry Yau in a statement. \u201cWe continuously review and strengthen these measures to ensure a safe, trusted, and welcoming environment for every child and family we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n
The museum added that it could not provide additional details at this time.<\/p>\n
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and four more arrests are pending as warrants are secured.<\/p>\n
