Helen Hunt, the iconic actress from\u00a0Twister\u00a0and\u00a0As Good as It Gets, just made\u00a0El Paso the star of the show in a short documentary series called\u00a0USA Through Film.<\/a>\u00a0Presented by GoUSA TV and produced by BBC StoryWorks, the two-minute video captures the heart and soul of the Sun City, and as a proud El Pasoan, I couldn\u2019t be more thrilled!<\/p>\n

Hunt takes viewers on a whirlwind tour of some of our city\u2019s most vibrant spots. From\u00a0the stunning Plaza Theatre<\/a>\u00a0to a lively lucha libre show, the segment also highlights our incredible culinary scene with\u00a0Chef Emiliano Marentes<\/a>,\u00a0the artistry of Christin Apodaca,<\/a>\u00a0and the one-of-a-kind creations by\u00a0Nevena Christi at Rocketbuster Boots<\/a>. She describes El Paso as a place where cultures blend seamlessly, saying, \u201cOne of the unique things about El Paso is the exchange of cultures and the blending of Mexican and American sensibilities, whether it\u2019s about food or art.\u201d<\/p>\n

As I watched Hunt walk through places I hold dear, I couldn\u2019t help but feel a burst of pride. It reminded me of the\u00a0915 Day\u00a0series by\u00a0local photographer and videographer Christian Churches<\/a>, who has a talent for showcasing the magic of our city through his lens. Like Hunt\u2019s video,\u00a0915 Day\u00a0celebrates the beauty and culture of El Paso, highlighting the stories and people that make it truly special. El Paso deserves this kind of love and attention, and seeing someone of Helen Hunt\u2019s caliber celebrating our city is like a warm hug for our community. Whether it\u2019s through her video or the work of local creatives like Churches, these moments put a spotlight on what makes El Paso unforgettable: its people, its culture, and its spirit.<\/p>\n
