All images by Eliesa Johnson and Melissa Hesse of The Restaurant Project\u00ae 2019<\/p>\n<p>The finalists are in for the <a href=\"https:\/\/oakcliff.advocatemag.com\/2026\/01\/james-beard-awards-semifinalists\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards,<\/a> with one Oak Cliff chef listed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oakcliff.advocatemag.com\/2020\/12\/lucia-moving-to-macellaio-salaryman-spaces-closes-original-location\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lucia\u2019s<\/a> Maggie Huff has been short-listed as a finalist for the Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker category.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, Lucia was a finalist in the <a href=\"https:\/\/oakcliff.advocatemag.com\/2023\/03\/james-beard-finalist-list\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Outstanding Restaurant<\/a> category in 2023, with Chef David Uygur named as a finalist in the <a href=\"https:\/\/oakcliff.advocatemag.com\/2024\/04\/james-beard-award-finalist\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Outstanding Chef<\/a> category in 2024.\u00a0The city has not produced a chef or restaurant winner for the James Beard awards in 25 years, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/2026\/03\/29\/dallas-has-another-chance-to-end-the-drought-in-james-beard-awards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Dallas Morning News.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The winners will be announced June 15 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tShare This Story, Choose Your Platform!<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/4b7788cb0990e4978f03f293513e201327c04def34eb630c23899a78f7ca98bf.png\"  class=\"avatar avatar-72 photo\" height=\"72\" width=\"72\" decoding=\"async\"\/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tVictoria Hernandez is the Oak Cliff editor for Advocate Media.
