KATY, Texas \u2013 Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office are responding to a scene in the Katy area where a woman was fatally shot.<\/p>\n
The incident was reported in the 6700 block of Rusty Ridge Lane, according to initial information received around 12:42 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n
HCSO confirmed that one woman is dead at the scene. <\/p>\n
They said the suspected shooter was a man. He called 911, said he had just shot somebody and hung up. It\u2019s unclear how he may have been related to the victim.<\/p>\n
The location of the shooting is near Duryea Elementary School, a Cy-Fair ISD campus. KPRC 2 contacted the school, which confirmed it is aware of the shooting and followed necessary safety protocols.<\/p>\n
